It is powered by a 2-liter 16-valve engine, specially modified for the Safari rallies, producing 195 horsepower. This engine setup includes a mechanical Kugelfischer fuel injection system with sheath spray, optimized for performance under extreme conditions.

The car retains its original body and has been maintained to preserve its authentic rally heritage. It is a Safari version, which means it has additional reinforcements and modifications to endure the tough rally environments, such as stronger fiberglass fenders and a specific electric fan on the oil cooler to enhance endurance and performance.
